Oxford Brookes partners with Sri Lanka’s BCAS to offer high-quality top-up degree programs

A milestone partnership with Oxford Brookes University has opened a range of undergraduate top-up degree programs at the British College of Applied Sciences (BCAS). This partnership enables Sri Lankan students to pursue British degrees while staying in Sri Lanka from one of the world’s top-ranked universities.

Commenting on the new partnership, Chief Executive Officer of BCAS, Khemantha Eranga Weeramathri said that partnering with an institution with a great track record of producing versatile and effective graduates bodes well for Sri Lanka.

“Having access to contemporary programs of study which are relevant to local and international job markets, BCAS can produce, job-ready, effective graduates to industry and commerce. We are so proud to deliver top-up degrees in Biomedical Science, Quantity Surveying, Nursing, and Law in collaboration with Oxford Brookes. On the path to becoming an education hub in the region, Sri Lanka has a broad vision and is open to global partnerships. We are highly excited to bring Oxford Brookes on board to facilitate that vision,” he further added.

Vice-Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University, Alistair Fitt in a statement said that this partnership will be a win-win situation for both institutions in the long run and went on to describe the high level of teaching quality maintained by the Brookes University and how it helps Sri Lankan students in their journey to success.

BCAS is a leading vocational and tertiary provider in Sri Lanka specializing in courses from engineering to management and construction. BCAS is home to 3500 plus students and has established learning centers at strategic locations within the island.

Oxford Brookes University enjoys an international reputation for job oriented courses and has already established partnerships with more than 13 universities around the world.
