HUTCH, the country’s fast-growing choice for mobile communication services, in an industry-first initiative kicked off a major Electric-bikes assistance program for its distribution partners to overcome the challenges of the present mobility constrained environment.
In Sri Lanka, like in most developing markets, 90% of the mobile subscribers are on prepaid service mode so having Recharge Vouchers and Electronic Reloads available is critical.
The unique initiative will see Hutch deliver over 200 Electric bikes to its distribution network to ensure the continued availability of its mobile products at over 75,000 Retail points across the country.
Thirukumar Nadarasa, CEO of Hutch, commented on this initiative. “With the prevailing fuel shortages in the country, distributing our mobile products using motorcycles is proving very difficult and distribution was restricted to push bikes and public transport only. As an essential communications service provider, we recognized the need for new and timely solutions to sustain the critical distribution network so that customers have uninterrupted access to services. The FOC electric bike assistance program to our distributors will therefore ensure critical product continue to reach our valued customers.”
This initiative is one of several supported by Hutch’s Global Fortune 500 parent, CK Hutchison Holdings Limited during the ongoing difficult environment and illustrates the commitment of the parent Company to ensure the continued sustainability of its business in Sri Lanka by supporting its important business partners.
The E-bikes were presented to distributor partners by Thirukumar Nadarasa, CEO of HUTCH, and Tharindu Wijerathne, General Manager – Sales at HUTCH at an event held at the HUTCH head office in Colombo.
