The Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2022 organized by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will survey several areas of economic reform as Sri Lanka looks to commence on a path of economic revival, with Session 2 of the Summit committed to ‘Implementing the Roadmap to SOE Reform – Opportunities for the Private Sector’, on December 6th.
The session will concentrate on the perfect general framework for SOE reform, which models can be explored for deregulation and divestment, and the reform viewpoint for main State institutions, and address the relevant questions of how to better convey the urgent requirement for reforms in order to guarantee public, trade union and other stakeholder buy-ins.
The plenary will comprise a presentation by Mr. Suresh Shah – Chairman of the SOE Restructuring Agency, who will be joined by a distinguished international speaker, who will speak about the landscape, opportunities, and way ahead for SOE reforms. Session panelists will consist of Mr. Dumith Fernando – Chairman, Asia Securities, Mr. Murtaza Jafferjee – CEO, JB Securities Ltd., Dr. Malathy Knight – Research Associate, Verité Research (Pvt) ltd., and will be moderated by Professor Rohan Samarajiva – Chairperson LIRNEasia.
The Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2022 (SLES 2022) is set to be held on the 5th and 6th of December as a hybrid summit, at the Shangri-La Hotel. The theme for the 22nd Sri Lanka Economic Summit is founded on the theme of Resetting from Turmoil to Opportunity.
