Hayleys Aventura, the industrial solutions arm of the Hayleys Group, recently announced the launch of ASCENT, a comprehensive roadmap designed to embed environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles across the Industry Inputs and Power & Energy sectors of the Group.

By integrating ESG across subsidiaries including Hayleys Lifesciences (Pvt) Ltd., Haycolour (Pvt) Ltd., Hayleys Power Limited, Hayleys Aventura Bangladesh Private Limited, Hayleys Aventura Singapore Pte. Ltd., and Innovative Solutions Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., ASCENT ensures consistent impact across operations.

The ASCENT ESG roadmap is anchored by six action pillars: Advance, Steward, Create, Engage, Nurture and Trust. These articulate Hayleys Aventura’s commitments to environmental stewardship, sustainable product innovation, employee empowerment, stakeholder value creation and strong governance. The roadmap aligns with the Hayleys Group’s ESG aspirations, articulated in the Hayleys Lifecode (the Group-wide framework that aligns ESG targets with value creation systems, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals) and Hayleys Aventura’s corporate purpose: “We engineer scientific solutions with sustainable innovation.”

Dr. Wasaba Jayasekera, Managing Director of Hayleys Aventura, said “ASCENT 2030 represents our commitment to responsible science and industrial progress. Our goal is not only to reduce our footprint but also to expand our handprint, driving responsible science, people-centred progress and transparent governance.”

(L to R): Mr. Chandana Kapugeekiyana, Deputy Managing Director, Hayleys Aventura (Pvt) Ltd. and Mr. Milinda Hewagama, Group Chief Financial Officer, Hayleys PLC, Dr. Wasaba Jayasekera, Managing Director of Hayleys Aventura, Mr. Mohan Pandithage, Chairman and Chief Executive Hayleys PLC and Ms. Sashi Jayakody, Director Finance, Hayleys Aventura.

Sashi Jayakody, Finance Director and Head of ESG, added “Hayleys Aventura recognises that long-term resilience depends on anticipating risks, innovating responsibly and co-creating sustainable value with our global principals. By embedding ESG principles into our strategy and governance, we enhance stakeholder trust, and position Hayleys Aventura as a leader in sustainable industrial solutions.”

On the environmental front, ASCENT will build on Hayleys Aventura’s existing achievements, including a renewable energy portfolio of 50MW which already generates 127 GWh of clean energy annually, with new projects such as a 4MW solar power plant which is underway.

The company will further expand its range of sustainable products across lifesciences, industrial raw materials, engineering equipment and industrial machinery, while continuing to support long-standing reforestation partnerships such as the Hayleys Group Kirulu initiative. These actions reinforce the Group’s ambition to accelerate decarbonization and reduce its carbon footprint.

Social initiatives such as the biennial breast cancer screening and awareness programmes for female employees reflect Hayleys Aventura’s focus on health and wellbeing, while community outreach through school refurbishments, educational support and contributions to the Group’s flagship social sustainability programme Puritas Sath Diyawara, continue to create lasting impact. The Hayleys Aventura Group views people empowerment and inclusive development as essential pillars of its ESG journey, ensuring that progress is also measured in the upliftment of its employees and communities.

Trust, the central pillar of ASCENT, symbolises unwavering governance and accountability, reinforcing transparency, ethical leadership and robust oversight. The framework adopts globally recognised standards and codes, including SLFRS S1 & S2 Sustainability Disclosure Standards, GRI, SASB, TCFD, Integrated Reporting, CA Sri Lanka’s Code of Best Practice on Corporate Governance, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

ASCENT 2030 has adopted the Crested Hawk-Eagle as its symbol – representing vision, strength and elevation – mirroring Hayleys Aventura’s ambition to lead the region’s industrial solutions sector towards sustainable transformation.
