Link Natural made its triumphant debut at the 53rd Mercantile Rugby Sevens 2025 and created history by emerging as Cup Champions. The tournament, organised by the Mercantile Rugby Football Association (MRFA), was held at the CR&FC Grounds, Longdon Place, Colombo on the 12th and 13th of September 2025.
The Link Natural team was led by Captain Srinath Sooriyabandara, whose leadership and exceptional skill earned him the title of ‘Player of the Tournament’. The team showed true warrior spirit and put on dazzling performances beating Pearl Beach 24-12 in the first round, and John Keells 21-0 in the second round. The team then went on to beat Sampath Bank with a convincing 32-0 win in the Semi-Final encounter, setting them up for a place in the Final against Pearl Beach. Link Natural went on to earn historic 31-14 win over Pearl Beach in the final, and emerging as cup champions of the 53rd Mercantile Rugby Sevens 2025.
